Toggle, launched in 2018, set out to reimagine and redefine the insurance landscape for digitally-savvy, internet-hungry consumers. Backed by Farmers Insurance, the millennial-focused brand introduced an innovative, customizable subscription model for renters insurance, starting at just $5 per month. True to its forward-thinking ethos, Toggle kept insurance engaging with unique and relatable add-ons like pet parent and side hustle coverage, catering to the lifestyles of its target audience.
I had the exciting opportunity to join Toggle during its launch, contributing to its success by shaping and executing key digital strategies. My role spanned design, social media, and email campaign development, ensuring the brand's messaging and visual presence resonated with its audience while driving growth and engagement. Through strategic planning and creative execution, I helped position Toggle as a disruptive, customer-centric player in the insurance industry.
When Toggle launched as a fresh, new brand, my strategy was to lean into their vibrant and recognizable brand colors, using vector illustrations and graphics to build a cohesive and memorable digital presence. Their signature colors became the cornerstone of every piece, including the animated content I created in After Effects and Illustrator. One standout project was a video illustrating just how simple it is to “Toggle On” coverage (though, let’s be honest, creating the video was far more complex than picking coverage options).
I also utilized my expertise in motion graphics and design to craft content for both their organic and paid social campaigns, ensuring every element felt consistent, creative, and engaging. Even after Toggle brought in an external agency to oversee their entire marketing strategy, I was proud to see my work continue to be used in various materials—proof of the lasting impact of my contributions.
In addition to crafting engaging social media posts, I designed impactful email campaigns for Toggle, including strategic collaborations with Tango and FreeBird. Understanding that Toggle’s millennial audience values concise and digestible content, I tailored the copy in marketing collateral to be sharp, compelling, and to the point. By aligning messaging with how millennials consume media, I ensured the brand’s communications were not only effective but resonated authentically with its target audience. This approach helped amplify Toggle’s appeal and reinforced its modern, user-focused identity.
